Q-SYS Commissioning Services

Commissioning for Q-SYS systems worldwide, remote or in-person. We get your systems online, tuned, tested, documented and handed off to your client.

What Commissioning Covers

Commissioning is everything that happens with a system after installation, minus programming (this is a generalization but tends to be true most of the time). This includes switch configuration, device setup & firmware, device testing, engineering validation (does the install match the drawing set?), engineering redlines when applicable, tuning the DSP inputs and outputs for the acoustic environment, training end-users, documenting the project & maintaining a punch list, and more. Commissioners take over the system directly after the installation and work with the programmer (if they aren’t also the programmer) to get the system turned over to the client.

Shop Commissioning

Part of the commissioning can also happen before racks ever leave the warehouse. Plenty of integrators prefer to configure and test systems as much as they can before shipping equipment to site, and we refer to this as Shop Commissioning. While this phase can be done remotely (with a technician available to move a remote machine around and set up devices), usually Shop Commissioning is conducted in person, in the integrator’s warehouse/shop. The network is set up, and all applicable devices are unboxed, configured, tested, and documented as necessary. Shop Commissioning can also be paired with remote or onsite Shop Programming, so that the code can be loaded and tested as much as possible in advance. Preparing your systems like this in a controlled environment helps to make the entire project go more smoothly onsite. Every hour of shop preparation directly reduces time onsite, sometimes by even more than one hour.

Onsite Commissioning

We travel anywhere to commission Q-SYS systems. While we are located in Chicago, IL, we perform a wide range of services for integrators both near and far. Let us take over the project directly from your installers, and bring it over the finish line. Flexibility is a pillar of our approach to keeping projects moving smoothly and ensuring our integrators meet their deadlines. Onsite work gives us the ability to perform audio tuning and loudspeaker optimization, as well as all of the other services that commissioning offers, like control system testing and debugging, integration verification with third-party equipment, end-user and operator training, and punch list resolution.

Remote Commissioning

Not every project requires boots on the ground. Network access permitting, we can provide remote commissioning services to augment the existing technician’s skillset, including the same network configuration, device firmware and setup, and general commissioning as our onsite and shop services.

How We Work
